 The first edition of the fellowship of cricket lovers of Rotary District 3201 - Rotary Premier League 2009 will be held at the Pooja Oval Cricket Ground, Tripunithura, Cochin on May 16th and 17th, 2009.
The teams for the events will be as follows:
01. Kovai Kings XI ( Coimbatore )
02. Valluvanad Knights ( Trichur & Palghat )
03. Cochin Chargers ( Cochin )
04. Rural Royals ( Rural )
Each team will be led by a Cricket Lover from the respective region and will be owned by a DG/PDG/DGN/DGE.
The captains will have to provide a list of players from their region with clear marking as to whether the player is a batsman/bowler/keeper/all rounder.
The owners and captains of each team will be decided by the DG and the teams ( 15 players a team ) will be decided by draw of lots (based on the list of players given by the captains from respective regions). The lots will be done for batsmen/bowlers/keepers/allrounders.
Each match is of 10 overs per side. The teams have to bowl their quota of 10 overs in 45 mts, failing which the first fielding team will be penalized twice the run rate for the remaining overs, where as the second batting team will bat only for the number of overs they have bowled in their allotted time. Finals will be a 20 overs per side match.
All 4 teams will play against each other in 10 overs per side match in the league phase. There will be 4 matches on the first day and 2 league matches and finals on the second day.
Other details of the tournament are as under:
This would purely be a CRICKET ball game.
The Venue: Pooja Oval, Tripunithura, Cochin.
All players have to be Rotarians of District 3201. Annes and Annets are not allowed to play in eleven.
The teams will be as mentioned above, based on draw of lots.
Each team is required to bring their own kits. The organizers will provide wickets and balls at the ground.
Super substituting will be permitted to a maximum of 2 players in a match.
Each bowler can bowl a maximum of 2 overs. ( 4 overs in the finals )
If the match ends in a tie, the same will be decided by the super over.
White playing uniform has to be worn by the participating teams.
The decisions of the umpires shall be final and binding.
The decisions of the organizers shall also be final and binding.
Registration: The registration fee for each player will be Rs. 500.00.
