Rtn MPHF B Jayarajan & spouse Rtne Vijaya Jayarajan

Born in the year 1957 from a very modest family background, his rise and growth is a story of a perseverance and steadfast quest for a just and equitable balance of pursuits, that promotes excellence and honours in all that he endeavored. And these endeavors are exhaustive and comprise nearly all walks of human activity.

Soon after completing his Articleship in 1985, when he qualified as a Chartered Accountant after his Bachelor’s programme in Mathematics, he set up his own firm in the name and style of M/S Jayarajan & Associates, at Palghat.

While at it, he grew and matured as the Chairman of the Palght Branch of Chartered Accountants, wherein he won the most Coveted Award - Commendation Certificate for the Best Branch of the Region, in the All India Level Contest consecutively for 2 years, a history in the annals of the branch.

Member of many cultural and social organizations in Palakkad, Jayarajan joined Palghat Jaycees in the year 1989. In the year 1995, he was elected as the Zonal President of Indian Junior Chamber. His charisma and leadership qualities saw him elected as the National Executive Vice President of Indian Junior Chamber in the year 1996.

An International Trainer [Excel] of Junior Chamber International, he has, for his excellent performance, won many National Awards of Indian Jaycees. He has conducted more than 1000 training programs in various parts of Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Andhra, etc. He also been invited as a faculty for many important training programmes of Lions International as well. He was also a faculty for Rotary’s prestigious Multi District Programme RAHLA in 1999 , 2003 and 2006 and for RAHLA organised by the neighboring district at Mysore and for the Rotary International RYLA for 4 consecutive years. He been sought after as a prominent faculty for many club level RYLAs and also addressed many clubs as a speaker. He is a regular faculty for Pre-Pets, Pets, District Officers Training and the District Assembly.

Rtn. Jayarajan joined Rotary Club of Palghat East in the year 1989. He held various posts in the Club and has been a 100 percenter. He was in the helm of affairs for many mega fund raising rogrammes like Tharangam, Exhibitions and many programmes which were instrumental in making the club financially strong. He proved his strong result oriented organizing skills in these mega programmes and seminars, be it District or Regional level, which has endeared him to the lot at the RI district 3200 then, and now the RI district 3201. He was the chairman of DOPEM, the first ever district programme to train Presidents Elect, District Officers and Assistant Governors in a single event. He was also the chairman of District Seminar on District Priorities organized by his club, which was a resounding success.

During his presidentship, he was instrumental in constructing and handing over 11 low cost shelter to deserving people under Matching Grant, constructed 11 toilets in a slum area, donate quipments worth Rs 2 lakhs to an ambulance for the benefit of the poor and organised a residential RYLA rogramme for the first time in the club. He won many awards as president of the club, including, the Best President of the District and Best club of the District under the Governorship of Rtn. Darius Marshal. He was one among the Best Assistant Governors under the Governorship of Rtn. L. Rajamani and the Best Regional Secretary of District 3200 for the year 2006-07 under the Governorship of Rtn. Babu Joseph. He has held various district posts under all the Past District Governors, since being a club president.

He is an executive member of many cultural and social organizations in Palakkad like OISCA International, SWARALAYA, Palghat Management Association, Chamber, Cosmopolitan club etc. He was also a Honorary member of Round Table, Palghat. He is also an active sportsman and was Vice President of Palghat District Cricket Association and served as Treasurer for many Ranji Trophy matches organised at Palghat and also was a selector of district cricket team. He was also Vice President of District Basket Ball Association. In addition he is lover of music and cultural programmes.

His passport bears testimony of entry into very many countries like Singapore, Bangkok, Hongkong, Nepal, Srilanka, Macau, Japan, London, Paris, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Dubai, Malaysia, USA, etc.

He is blessed to be married to VIJAYA, an accommodative, understanding, forgiving and supportive wife, who is an Member of InnerWheel Club of Palghat East and was Chairperson of Jayceerette wing of Palghat Junior Chamber and the couple is blessed with two daughters Priya and Purnima, who while still in their schools would very much like to emulate him.

Challenges are the fuel for his engine. Planning to succeed is his greatest asset and running power. And both of these are ingrained in the contagious certainty of his mind, and his stout body. The dream team 2011-12 is a result of a strategic talent hunt and an aptitude assessed, appointments designed to deliver. This is another exquisite capability of our DG.

History was made when the district training modules like the AGTS and PETS were held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and at Kandy, Sri Lanka respectively. As a leader in the district he has set an example in many areas like the transparency in presenting the budget at the PETS and formed the district cabinet meet, to make all decisions in a democratic and transparent manner, the format and criteria for the district awards and the selection of GSE team. And this is his humble request to all of you to emulate.
